We have our favorites here as every retro gamer does. Retro gaming could be very enjoyable. It directs us back to some time when we played several of the finest games ever created. They did not feature the on-line play capabilities, or the 3D images of today’s games, but what they did feature was some of the finest gaming ever. We sometimes claim that the 16-bit and 8-bit era of gaming was where a lot of the invention was formed for video games. A few of the best gameplay, on those old classic systems, may be discovered regardless of the pixelated images. It is difficult to believe that systems like the NES / Famicom are now more than 30 years old.

Looks pretty impressive but hang on to your wallet before you rush out to buy it. The packaging alone makes you want to go ohh and ahh. You get a free keyring carrying case and it comes in a pretty high speed case when it arrives.

You also get an extra replacement shell and it is shipped with a CD for easy install for those with slower connections.

Other Pluses

The R4 unlike other cards does not have any exposed chips that stick up from the plastic. The housing is pretty sturdy. The CD has both English and Chinese options and a few other pluses. Overall this is a great flash card and well worth the money.

Do not let the CD fool you! This is a completely drag and drop ready to go card. The CD is nice to have but understand you really do not need it.

Ease of Use

Of course the question always remains “does it work?” The answer is yes it works just as it should. It is user friendly, easy to install and works like a charm. It has been tested by some very reliable sites and has passed the majority of tests.

The performance is top notch! It has been found to be 100% compatible with all Window’s platforms (MAC might have issues). If you are looking for something that is customizable this is not it but if you are all about ease and drop and drag than the R4DS may be for you!

The price is right and the extras are nice. This is a great flashcard for someone that does not want to take too much time with installs.
